Hunter & Katie Melton

Katie and Hunter Melton are honored to be part of this year’s Dancing for Our Stars (DFOS), participating in loving memory of Katie’s granny, Sue Cook, who adored the event and always hoped they would one day take the stage. Though neither Katie nor Hunter comes from a dance background, both are excited to embrace the challenge together and support a cause their family cares deeply about.
Katie is a lifelong Corsicana native and a proud graduate of Corsicana High School’s Class of 2012. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University in just three years, followed by a Master of Science in Health Education in 2017. She now serves as the Development and Events Manager at the Hope Center while also teaching group fitness classes at the YMCA. Active at Northside Baptist Church, Katie volunteers in the nursery, co-leads a pre-K class, and stays involved in her children’s school activities. Friends know her as determined, competitive, and always on the go.
Hunter grew up in Dawson and Corsicana before heading to Texas A&M University, where he played baseball and experienced unforgettable moments on the field. His hard work and dedication led to a major milestone when he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies. Today, he gives back by coaching at the YMCA and leading his son’s 7U coach pitch team. Friends describe him as talkative, easygoing, and full of energy.
Married for seven years, Katie and Hunter share a full and joyful life with their three children: Hayes, Karter, and Kamden. Family, faith, and community are at the heart of everything they do, and they are thrilled to take on this DFOS journey side by side.
